Curriculum & Academic Life

The Lyceum follows the national Ukrainian curriculum, with particular specialization in technological education and Jewish cultural studies. Jewish subjects include Hebrew (grades 1–11) and traditions and history of the Jewish people (grades 6–8), taught using both Israeli and original curricular programs.

Students engage in a full range of general academic courses alongside a highly developed technological education program. These include author-developed methods in technology, particularly the Ministry of Education–approved “Technology” course for grades 5–9. Instruction is enhanced by ORT-supported online platforms, such as https://ort.education and https://info.ort.education, shared across the ORT network.

Enrichment & Student Life

A wide range of co-curricular programs are available to students. From as early as grade 1, students join the “Info-knower” club. STEM Labs, lego modeling, introductory robotics, and 3D modeling courses are introduced from grades 2 to 7. The Lyceum uses cutting-edge educational technologies, including Lego Education, Arduino, Micro:bit, and drones. These hands-on experiences are complemented by high school training in computer modeling, programming, and electronics.

In 2024, the Lyceum revived its Nitzanim Theater, which now performs at Jewish holiday events. The school council supports student involvement in governance and project work, and students collaborate with local Jewish organizations including Chabad and Hillel.

Innovation & Resource Sharing

The Lyceum demonstrates leadership in educational innovation through STEAM-focused curricula, high-tech equipment, and ministry-recognized teaching materials. Teachers regularly develop new content aligned with national standards and 21st-century learning practices.

Students benefit from purpose-built IT environments and practical learning tools. The school's courses in technology, engineering, and robotics allow students to apply knowledge creatively and prepare for advanced education or careers in tech.

The Lyceum is actively developing its capacity in STEM and is seeking to further strengthen Jewish education and international collaboration within the ORT network.

Educating for Life

The Lyceum places strong emphasis on educating for life through practical skills, modern tools, and global awareness. STEM subjects such as computer science, robotics, and AI are part of the evolving curriculum.

While international travel has been paused due to security conditions, students participate in local projects that develop leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility. Educational events and parent programs are regularly held to extend learning beyond the classroom.

The opening of a shelter on campus in December 2023, supported by ORT, ensures the safety of students during ongoing missile and drone attacks, allowing the continuation of in-person education under challenging circumstances.

Jewish Experience

Jewish Education is a central pillar of life at the Lyceum. Hebrew and Jewish history are taught throughout a student’s school journey. The school community celebrates all Jewish holidays with enthusiasm and creativity - students and teachers gather every Friday for Shabbat, led by high school students who conduct prayers, lead readings, and perform music.

Classrooms are decorated before each holiday, and performances or concerts are prepared and presented school-wide. The Lyceum fosters a strong connection to Jewish identity through curriculum, tradition, and celebration.

Four times a year, the Lyceum runs a Jewish Family Club that brings together students, parents, and staff for communal learning and cultural activities.

Global Citizenship

Although international travel and competitions such as Hidon HaTanakh are currently on hold due to the conflict, students are actively involved in local initiatives with social and environmental focus. These projects support the development of civic responsibility and align with ORT’s global citizenship values.

The Lyceum maintains ties with local and national Jewish organizations, offering students opportunities for meaningful community engagement and the development of leadership in a global Jewish context.
